Welcome to Family Playlists, a tool that flips homework on its head and makes it easy and fun to help your child with what they are learning in school.
Family Playlists are interactive home activities that let your child take the lead – first, they LEARN, PRACTICE, and CHECK their understanding of an important grade-level skill, then engage with you at home to teach you what they’re learning. You then get to share your feedback on the activity with the teacher.
When your child has been assigned a Family Playlist, you will receive an email or text message from your child’s teacher that contains a URL. This URL will open your child’s Family Playlist with no login necessary.
Your child will complete the first three sections (Learn, Practice, Check) on their own as a refresher for what they have learned in class. Next, you and your child will work together on the step called “Family Exploration.” Select “Family Exploration” to begin.
Have them take the lead rather than doing it “for” them. Remember, this is not homework for parents. Teaching someone else is a great way to learn, so make sure you give your child the opportunity to teach YOU!
During this activity, you can ask questions to help your child think through the activity. You can upload a photo or video of you and your child completing the activity together for your child’s teacher to see.
Once your child has led you through the Family Exploration and submitted a video or image of you completing the activity, it’s your turn!
You will now participate in the Family Feedback section of the playlist, where you are asked to provide feedback directly to your child’s teacher.
It’s important to note that your child is not graded on family feedback - this is simply to help the teacher follow up if needed and better support your child, so be as honest as you can!
Once you have answered the questions, you should submit your response.
If you ever have questions about how family playlists work or experience any issues, you can get help from our support staff by clicking the customer support for family playlists link at the bottom of the page.
You may receive an additional text or email soon from the teacher responding to your feedback.
